Barry Rabinowitz’s photographic career has spanned four decades and has taken him around the globe.
He has shot surfers at Pipeline and pro-democracy protestors in Tiananmen Square.
His photographs have covered a diverse array of political, religious and artistic leaders, from four U.S. Presidents and the Queen of England, to the Pope at the Vatican, to artists such as Bob Marley performing in Jamaica. His work has appeared in top U.S. publications like Time, Newsweek and People and his sports photos have graced the pages of Sports Illustrated and Tennis Magazine.
An early transition to digital photography has allowed him to develop an expertise in this area, opening up a new outlet for his creativity.
Barry most enjoys capturing the images and stories of people, from the extraordinary, to the ordinary. His Polaroid manipulations of St. George Street in St. Augustine earned him a Florida Magazine Association photo essay award in 2002.
Born in Connecticut and schooled at the Brooks Institute of Photography in Santa Barbara, California, Barry currently resides in Atlantic Beach, Florida.
